Impact Overview
More than numbers...
Our funds are designed to unlock the potential of businesses that help build
climate and economic resilience, especially for people in vulnerable situations

Our impact data only tells part of the story
Behind each number there is a job created, a farmer trained, a product recovered, a woman empowered, a community better prepared for future challenges
These outcomes reflect the kind of progress we believe in: led by businesses that create opportunities, strengthen livelihoods, and foster inclusive growth.
What impact means to GSI
At GSI, we believe the private sector has a critical role to play in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, from structural poverty and inequality to the effects of climate change.
We invest in profitable, sustainable companies that create jobs and deliver essential products and services, improving the livelihoods of people in vulnerable situations and building more inclusive and resilient local economies.
A shared Theory of Change
Our funds follow a common impact logic, adapted to different realities.

Structural inequality, economic exclusion, climate vulnerability

Invest in scalable, impactful, and financially sound businesses

Improved livelihoods, inclusive economies, and greater resilience at the individual, business, and community levels
Across all strategies, we aim for systemic impact in 3 dimensions
While the mission is shared, the degree of involvement and additionally, as well as the specific outputs and outcomes we target, differ by strategy and context. This differentiated approach allows us to respond to local needs with the right instruments, while always driving toward long-term, systemic impact across the three core dimensions.

We provide both financial and technical support where few alternatives exist.
We offer tailored financing to revenue-generating SMEs that often lack access to capital. Here, our investments are catalytic, helping companies stabilize, expand, and deliver essential products, services, jobs, and market access in underserved, often fragile environments.
The impact assessment methodology is based on four key dimensions aligned with each fund’s strategic impact objectives. Scores range from 1 to 10 and are weighted according to each company’s share in the portfolio.
Stories of Impact
Each business in our portfolio represents a model where growth and impact go hand in hand: improving livelihoods, building climate and economic resilience, and enabling people and communities to reach their full potential.
